Lift Truck Operator

We are currently seeking a first shift, 7 am-3:30 pm, Lift Truck Operator to provide quality material handling to support operations and achieve growth. This full-time position, working Monday – Friday, earning $15/hour will report to the facility manager/facility lead and will occasionally require weekends, holidays, and overtime. Job Description

Forklift drivers/material handlers are responsible for safely loading and unloading trucks and railcars, performing inventory control, and customer correspondence.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operate a lift truck to pick orders, load and unload trucks and railcars
  • Perform inventory control activities to ensure accurate product records
  • Must adhere to safety and employee policies
  • Serve our customers through providing accurate correspondence on inbound and outbound orders
  • Load/unload and break down freight onto wood pallets, at a pace that meets or exceeds productivity goals and standards
  • Sort and organize freight by PO and SKU number
  • Break down freight from containers or trailers
  • Sorting, repacking and labeling, pallet repair
  • Maintain an organized and clean work area

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Qualifications:

  • Experience loading and unloading trucks using lift truck equipment
  • Experience operating stand-up order picking
  • Reliable transportation to report to scheduled shift and travel between facilities as needed
  • Demonstrated accuracy in counting and completing paperwork
  • Previous knowledge or a desire to learn about the product being handled
  • Ability to pull orders correctly
  • Positive, clear, and professional communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of previous lift truck experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working in a warehouse environment
  • Minimum 1 year of reach truck experience
