Dock Coordinator

Allentown, PA
1st Shift (7:00am- 4:30pm)

We are hiring for a Dock Coordinator  – this person will oversee employees, training and safety. This full-time position will report to the Department Lead and may occasionally require weekends, holidays, and overtime. Starting base wage depending on experience $16.00 – $18.00/hour. Duties and Accountabilties

  • Utilize all material handling technology (WMS) to maximize efficiency and maintain accurate inventory
  • Communicate customer and product information as required
  • Good computer skills with regards to ancillaries, inventory and customer’s product
  • Great communication skills with employees with regard to coaching, processes and disciplinary action
  • Safely operate all types of forklifts and attachments in the facility onto trailers, containers, and railcars
  • Maintain daily schedules, assignments and follow up with projects as needed
  • Provide exceptional customer relations while working with entire team

Required Knowledge Skill and Abilities

  • Basic math, reading, and writing skills to ensure accurate counts and paperwork
  • Proficient reading and writing skills, literate in Word and Excel
  • Previous knowledge is a plus. Ability to work and contribute in our team environment
  • Willingness to accept additional assignments
  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a team
  • Ability to follow instructions and follow through on assigned tasks and responsibilities
  • Ability to communicate professionally, both verbally and written

Preferred Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working in warehouse environment
  • Willingness to help safely operate lift truck attachments such as forks, carton clamp and roll grab

Physical Capabilities and Requirements

  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time through very hot and cold temperatures
  • Ability to repetitively twist or turn to drive in reverse and stand, climb, kneel, stoop and squat, as needed
  • Must be willing and able to safely lift up to 60 pounds
  • Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and uniforms that are provided by the company
